September 21, 1953 - July 12, 2021

A matriarch. A teacher, A mother. A friend. A trusted confidant to many...A community nurse. Sylvia was a people's person. She loved the Lord and was never ashamed to proclaim His word. She love to worship and easily broke out in song when she met family and friends. She valued relationships and always reminded us that 'wat nyaka med g'osiep' she put family first. She never minced her words and stood steadfast in the truth. She loved kids ..all kids....and raised more than 50 children personally. Her involvement as a Sunday school teacher gave her a chance to touch the lives of so many people. We have lost a gem. Our matriarch. If we could negotiate with the Lord, we'd ask for one more year..may be two or even ten more....the Lord's ways are not ours so we say adieu mama, till we meet again. Keep shining on us. We will surely miss your love n care..

To my Brothers and Sisters, Please accept my most sincere condolences in this trying time. No loss is greater than the loss of a mother. May Mao rest in peace. Words cannot lessen the sorrow of losing my Mao. As time goes by, may you all find comfort in the memories of all the things that made Mao so special. Let her goodness, her earing, and her wisdom live on like a legacy of love that will always be with you. May Mao's love sorround you now and bring you peace. Mao will be missed by many. My sincere condolences!
