Someone once said of himself “I was born, I grew and now this is what I am”. As for me, Akinwale Okuribido, I say of myself, I was born, raised and guided by the love and protection of a great family, as a result, I am who I am today, ”An extremely grateful son”. Daddy, many with enormous wealth wish to live the life you lived, the ipata boy (but always with an objective), the youth, full of life’s excitement, the family man with a zest for life and a father who left his children and descendants with memories to last and bring them a lifetime of smiles and lessons, a person well loved by those whose life you touched and those who merely heard of you. For as far as I can remember, you and mummy always held out a helping hand to those who needed it, even when those requiring it did not or could not ask. When my time here is done, I will think my life well lived, if my children think of me as I do of you. Thank you for my life and by extension, the life of my children. I will always be grateful for all that you taught, gave and shared. Sleep well my dear father and may you always be at peace, wherever you may be. Your dear and ever loving son, Akinwale Okuribido.
