Steve worked for the University for a long time - at Jodrell Bank, in IT Services and then more recently in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. In all of his roles, he undertook his duties to a very high standard. For many in the Department he was the go-to person for any computer and IT issue, actively engaging in any problems that people had, from the trivial to the challenging, in a helpful, collegiate and effective way to support activities from teaching through to research and across many other areas. He was a very gentle and approachable person, who touched the hearts of many people as a colleague, but also as a friend. He will be missed by everyone in the Department and by many others in the University.
