Shoki went to the same eastleigh secondary school as myself but was a year ahead of me. Then I met him in Nairobi thru our mutual friend Waheed dar and we stuck instant liking and friendship. This was sometime in 1980. Thereafter we had a chance meeting in Dubai when I was on duty from Kuwait. My duty visits to Dubai were frequent. On one occasion he invited me to his house in new Dubai. I had never visited that part and was pleasantly surprised to see it. So when ever I visited Dubai we used to get together, have meals and once we went to desert safari. The best moments were when we shared Saturday mornings to xchange gossip, news, stories and banter. We remember dinners with music surrounded by the warmth and pleasant company of the whole family. U khurshid were ever welcoming with excellent food and ambiance. These are our dear memories which we shall forever cherish. Not once have I ever seen shoki with any grouse about anything. His warmth was like glue binding us friends together. His generousty in both large and minor events spoke volumes about his character. We shall all miss him.
