Dear Prof. Seung Ha Oh's Family, Friends, and Colleagues,
I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my dear friend Seung Ha, who left us far too soon at his early age. The news of his departure has left a void in my heart that can never be filled.
Seung Ha and I shared a special friendship that spanned over three decades. We first met 30 years ago, and from that moment on, our bond grew stronger with each passing year. Whenever we had the opportunity to meet at international meetings, we cherished those moments, often spending quiet evenings together, just the two of us. In those precious hours, we would share our thoughts, not only about the intricacies of our professional lives but also about the broader aspects of life itself.
In the midst of our demanding schedules, consumed by academic commitments and clinical obligations, we often overlooked the significance of tending to our personal lives. We inspired each other to prioritize the small joys of life, such as preparing tea on tranquil holiday mornings and sharing heartfelt conversations with our life partners. Through our shared experiences, we came to appreciate the value of these moments, as they became a bridge connecting our souls with the ones we held dear.
I firmly believe that Seung Ha Oh has found a peaceful rest on the other side, and I can imagine his beautiful smile as he watches over us, praying for our success in the fields of clinical and basic medicine. He dedicated his life to helping those suffering from hearing problems, leaving a lasting legacy of care and compassion.
As I think of him now, his warm smile continues to inspire me, and I am grateful for the memories we created together. Seung Ha will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I will carry his wisdom and friendship with me always.
My deepest condolences go out to all of you who knew and loved Seung Ha Oh. May his memory bring you comfort and strength during this difficult time.
