Gita, Swati and Shubham I recruited Surabh into EY and I was the Partner who was responsible for his work in our client in AIB. From the first moment that I met Suarabh what’s stuck me was what a personably and thoughtful person he was. I’ve attached an email here that I sent out in EY. Having discussed the terrible situation with Gita and Swati we will stay in touch over the coming days, weeks and months and EY will continue to do everything we can to support you. Surabh was a true gentlemen and highly valued member of the team. All. I’m struggling to find the right words for this email, and it’s is with a very sad and heavy heart that I am sending you this note today. Yesterday, our fellow consulting colleague and friend, Saurabh Shiralkar passed away. Saurabh had been ill for some time and took time away from work to focus on his health. Saurabh approached his illness with his characteristic positivity, bravery and determination. Saurabh joined EY in 2018 as an experienced hire into the PPM team. Prior to joining us in EY, he had worked at Accenture, Bank of America and AT&T. After joining EY, he initially worked with the ESB PM Services team and subsequently moved into AIB where he worked in the risk domain. He built fantastic trust and respect with his peers and clients in AIB across a number of engagements including Risk Change and on the BCBS Programme. He was a tremendous consultant, colleague, peer and friend to many of us. What set him apart was his manner and ways of engaging people in a calm, collaborative and solution focused manner. He was highly qualified and held an MBA from Cranfield University (UK), MSc in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas at Arlington (USA) and BEng in Electronics from Devi Ahilya University (India). This is shocking and upsetting for all of us and I’m struggling to come to terms with it. For those of us that knew Saurabh, I would encourage you all to take some time away from the laptops and calls this afternoon, to process this and to remember Saurabh in your own way. It is good to chat and talk to people about it. Myself, Alan Prout (his counsellor), Mark Brangam (engagement lead) and the PAPD team are here to support you, to chat with you and to do what we can to help each other process this. Indeed, at times like this, I think it is safe to say we are all here for each other. A reminder also of EY’s Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) confidential helpline on 1800 911 909 or website www.layaeap.ie (password: LAYAEAP). It is a free, confidential information and counselling service available to all EY staff. I would encourage you to leverage this if necessary. The funeral is likely to be tomorrow, and we are working out the most appropriate support and representation from EY at it. We are also considering what the best way is to get together and work out how to celebrate his life and mourn his passing. He leaves a young son and wife in Ireland and our main objective will be to work out what we can do to help them at this terrible time. Please do drop me a note if you want to chat further and please look after yourselves. Kind regards Marcus
I got to know Saurabh while we were working in ESB. He was a genuine, gentle and kind person. At work he brought a calm presence to any team and he was always up for a chat. My deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones. James K.
I have very fond memories of Saurabh from our days at Accenture. He was a member of Accentuators (Accenture Ireland Toastmasters Club). He always came across as a level-headed person. Extremely calm and very compassionate. His commitment and contribution to the club will always be remembered. My sincere prayer is that The Most High will give his family the strength to bear this loss while giving them the closure that Saurabh lived a very impactful life. In my mind, I don't know anyone more emotionally intelligent yet so technically competent. Truly a great man.
I had the pleasure to work with Saurabh and my abiding memory of him was a man who was polite, sincere, positive and an absolute gentleman. He always engaged people with a smile and respect and it was great working with him. I am deeply saddened by the passing of Saurabh and I want to pass on my sincere condolences to his family of which he was hugely proud and all of this friends and colleagues who he made a lasting impact on. May Saurabh rest in peace. Florian
I have great memories of my time at Accenture working with Saurabh. The first image that comes to mind is when Saurabh joined EY a few months after I did and we spent time catching up and talking about the future. Saurabh was a true gentleman, open-minded, who always meant what he said. I am deeply saddened of his passing and my sincere sympathies are with his family. Jean-Philippe
I had the pleasure of being Saurabh counsellor (coach) during his time in EY. He was a wonderful person and had a very gentle demeanor. Anyone who met him always had nothing but good things to say about him and how nice he was. I really enjoyed getting to know him. Outside of our working relationship Saurabh and I would often talk about his family, it was so evident how much he loved his wife and son and how proud he was of them. I'm deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but, I am grateful for the time that I knew him. We will all miss you Saurabh, may you Rest in Peace. Alan Prout, EY.
We are all deeply saddened by the sudden departure of Saurabh while also grateful for the memories we have of having him as part of our community. I remember him as a calm and focused professional with a kind heart and a huge love of his family. We were so lucky to have him within the team and will miss him greatly whilst also remembering him and the huge impression he made on all those he worked with. My very deepest sympathies go to his family and loved ones. We will remember him always. Colin Ryan and the EY Financial Services Partners.
I have very fond memories of my time working with Saurabh. He was my regular Lunch and Coffee partner during the breaks. Though we were both from different firms working on a common program for our client, being the only two Indians on the program, we connected and I happened to know him and his family through him. I will miss you dearly Saurabh and thank you for all advice you shared with me over the years. Rest in Peace, Saurabh. Gaurav Aggarwal, EY
I am sick at heart with passing of Saurabh. I was lucky to work with him for EY Toastmasters and had chance to share same memories with such a true gentleman. His positivity and smile were always helping us to stay calm, patient and focused. During the meetings, he was always volunteer to make it great. I saw him very delighted whenever he mentioned about his family and his son in his impromptu speeches. I remember once how he had told us that his son's birth day was the most beautiful day of his life:( I am sure he will watch his son from somewhere beautiful and send his great love to him. Saurabh, I will always remember you with a smile in my face. Rest in peace, Saurabh. Burcu Demircan EY
I'm shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Saurabh. I had the pleasure of working with Saurabh on a project at the ESB and can say that Saurabh was one of the nicest and kindest people I've met in EY. My deepest sympathies to his family. Gavin Quirke, EY.

Saurabh was a lovely guy to work with. I worked with him for a brief period where he had the difficult task of keeping myself and others on track (we worked for different firms at the time). You couldn’t help but be won over by his gentle yet persistent and tenacious approach. He was a lovely guy to stop and talk to in the corridor. He was very welcoming to me in EY when I made the move across. I was also very impressed by his ‘Movember’ attempt. We laughed about whether his moustache would become a permanent fixture. I was very saddened to hear this terrible news, Saurabh and his family will be in my prayers.
