I worked with Ron for a happy four years. He was my boss, my friend and occasionally my confidant.
He had a potty mouth and a strong accent which was always amusing to watch new staff try and work out what he was saying.
I left University knowing nothing about Archaeology but everything about working a bar and 22 years later I am still in the same trade and that's thanks to Ron's help, knowledge and giving me the confidence I needed.
I didn't keep in contact and I've always kicked myself for it but he was a wonderful boss and I'm heartbroken to hear of his passing. Sending all my love, Olivia.
