Ron gave me a job behind the bar in my first year at Lampeter, and I kept it all through my time at university. In my final year, Ron trained me to run the bar, which I loved, and this experience led to me becoming a license at the age of 23.
Ron was so very kind to us all, he didn't suffer fools gladly, but really looked after us. In a way he was like a dad to many of us who were away from home for the first time. I learned so much from Ron, and never forgot the chance he gave me all those years ago. Ron was respected and loved by so many of us, he called everyone "Babs" or "Son" and gave the best hugs ever!
