Robert went by many names: Bob, Bob the Builder/Builder Bob, Dad, Boompa, Clark Griswold, and many more. He was an encyclopedia of movie quotes and could build/fix anything. He was a loving husband and father, who was a genius, hard-headed, funny, and one of a kind. Please help us honor Dad by sharing any memories/ stories you might have. Your stories will be put into a book all about him that I (Amy) will be making later on. Thank you everyone for all of your prayers and support during this time. We love you, Dad and we all miss you greatly.

One of my favorite memories of Uncle Bob took place during Hurricane Ike in 2008. At the time we lived close to Bob and Mel. Kim was six months pregnant and miserable because we didn’t have power to run the air conditioner thanks to the storm. At 1:00 AM we hear banging on the front door. It was Bob coming to tell us that their power was back on. Not only did he rescue us from the heat and darkness that night, but he opened up his home to us for a week until power was restored at our house. Bob was always very good to me and my family. We miss him very much.

I have known Bob for many, many years. What a treasure and a character he was. He was passionate about his family, his career, his hobbies and everything he did. Bob was also quite a fun-loving character! When I visited Mel and Bob after they got married and moved into their first home, I knew my sister was in for a life time of surprises, adventures and fun with Mr. Bob when I opened the dishwasher and there were not only his tennis shoes, but part of the engine from his car. What a character! I loved Bob like a brother and treasure the many good memories of all the great times we all had. You will never be forgotten and always be loved ❤️

Bob was truly one of a kind and had the best one liners! He kept me laughing! And that huge shelf of movies that he built was truly amazing. Mel, I’m thinking of you and the entire family during this difficult time. Take comfort in knowing he is watching over you all and for all if the years and memories you hold dear.

Uncle Bobs Life Hacks Batteries last longer if you keep them in the fridge. Anything can be washed in the dishwasher. - when I was a tween and Robby was little I spent the summer with Bob and Mel I gained a lot of tips and tricks that summer! Prepared / heat and serve food never expires. - I will never forget Bob and his routine of preparing his Jimmy Dean sausage links and coffee the night before work and putting them in the truck for breakfast the next morning! The man had a cast iron stomach! The pool counts as a bath if you use shampoo. - Alex and Ethan LOVED baths at Aunt Mel and Uncle Bobs house!!! Naked is natural, - I will never forget Aunt Mel calling to tell me to text before coming over because Uncle Bob was naked in his white goulashes pressure washing the pool deck! There are endless stories and antics to be shared but at the heart of it all was Uncle Bob. He was a giving man who would do anything for the people he loved in his life. He was a true genius always creating and building. You will be dearly missed and always loved!

One memory I always remember with Bob was when Amy invited me on her family trip to south padre and like normal 19 year olds we were sleeping in until noon and Bob was not having any of that. Amy thought by locking the door it would keep Bob & Mel from waking us up but good ol Bob slid his iPad playing " Sneaky Snake" on full volume under the door and laughed as he walked off and Amy threw her pillow over her head grumbling while I scooped the iPad off the ground and started singing along to sneaky snake as I walked out to give Bob back his iPad. I think it tickled him more, than waking up Amy did, that I knew the lyrics to that dumb song. We sat down and talked a little while after that waiting for Amy to wake up and drinking coffee. It was really good memory I have of him.
