Raghu Hariharan

January 5, 1970 - December 18, 2020

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Raghunath (known as Raghu) Hariharan passed away on Friday 18 December 2020. We would like to celebrate the life of this very special man; an adoring husband, best friend and soulmate to Deepali and devoted father to Freya and Sanat. Raghu was also a loving son to K. Hariharan and Radha Hariharan and brother to Kalpana Srinivas and Kavitha Hariharan. He will be cherished and deeply missed. Raghu touched many people's lives all over the world, and his legacy lives on. We invite you to share your memories of him with friends and family through this memorial site.

What I remember most about Raghu is his warm smile, his ability to create an easy rapport when you first meet him. He was just so likeable. You felt he had an arm around your shoulder as we swapped stories. There is so much to admire and learn from him. He was undoubtedly highly intelligent possessing a rare mix of intelligence, humbleness and high empathy. I wish I had told him this. I wish he knew how much we all respected him and how lucky we considered ourselves to be counted as his friend. We will all miss him. There’s a dull ache, sometimes it doesn’t seem quite true that we will not be able to swap stories any more. I will miss Raghu terribly. I will miss his smile. “... and in the night with sweet refrain comes his smile to haunt our hearts again” Goodbye my friend. It was an absolute pleasure and honour knowing you.
