I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear this news. As an one of his early PhD students I remember Chris as a kind and highly intelligent friend who was endlessly generous in the help and support he provided to me and fellow students. He was my first boss and we really were part of his family. I remember Daniel being born and discussions with Katherine that helped shape the way I grew up and matured. Very sad news indeed.
