Such a huge shock, and I'm so very sorry to hear about this untimely death. I coached Chris as part of a Senior Leaders programme when he was thinking about making the transition from pure academia into institutional leadership. I remember his deep curiosity, quick mind and humility; reflecting if he had what was needed at senior leadership level and if his contributions would be welcome. He had bold visions and was a brilliant implementer. Such a loss both to science and leadership.
