I am very shocked and saddened to hear the news of Chris's sudden death. He attended the annual lecture of the Cambridge ESRC DTP late yesterday afternoon/early evening, and we were honoured that he found time in his busy diary to do so, and said so in the Introduction. Chris has always been straightforwardly helpful, thoughtful, and supportive. His death is an enormous loss to the University. Our thoughts and condolences to his family, friends and immediate colleagues.
