Our first encounter with this lovely friendly generous man was at a party he and Maureen hosted to celebrate the engagement of Joanna and Mark. We hit it off immediately and it was the beginning of a very good fun friendship made all the more special by our sharing of our four wonderful grandsons. Peter very kindly offered to make the brûlée on the pudding I had brought by going to his Aladdin cave of a garage and reappearing with his large industrial type blow torch!! It did the job a treat! And made us all laugh. We are proud that our first guests on our much longed for sailing yacht were Peter and Maureen who with a great deal of laughter and jollity managed to sleep in the very ‘cosy’ fore cabin. We had loads of fun together sailing together on Lake Windermere prior to our yacht being brought south. Peter was one of the most generous people we have ever met, hosting many gatherings and always making us welcome with his impish smile and wonderful humour. How we will miss him, the loss to the family is great and the void he leaves huge. Thankfully his personality means that we have many wonderful and indelible memories of Peter and for that we are thankful. We shall be here for you Maureen and we will continue to make memories and have fun and Peter will be with us in our hearts.
