I joined the team recently, and even in the short time I worked with Paul, he made a lasting impact on me. As I was navigating a completely new organization, he patiently guided me through every challenge. No matter how busy he was, he always found time to help, explain things clearly, and make sure I never felt stuck. He shared stories from his own journey, and I often felt inspired just listening to him. His wit and warmth - always made me feel at ease. I remember once bringing up a tricky issue, and he excitedly pulled out a folder of notes he had written years ago, saying he’d seen this coming - that moment summed up the kind of thoughtful leader he was. I truly felt I had found a mentor who cared deeply about his team. I’ll always be grateful for the support and kindness he showed me. He will be deeply missed.

I recently reconnected with Paul and had the chance to sit down for an in-person conversation. A conversation that flowed from data transformation to life philosophies to New York City. It's hard to believe that he is gone, I can still picture his smiling face during our conversation. Grateful for that time. Rest in peace, Paul. you will be missed!!

There is no doubt that Paul was a great technologist, manager, adviser, mentor .. but what I loved most about Paul was the king of person he was - kind, humble, always approachable. I believe that he saw the world in black and white - he could clearly tell right from wrong in a very objective fashion - which made him an incredible advisor. I would bounce ideas all the time and trust for him to point me in the right direction. I'd always remember his "Oh dear" quips and miss his mentorship. He's left a proud legacy and will be remembered very dearly for years to come

Paul was a great manager to work with - supportive, believer, great listener, insightful and truly respectful by all who had the privilege to work under his leadership. I will remain grateful for the guidance and support he offered throughout my time with him. You will be missed Paul !

I find it really difficult to articulate what Paul meant to me. He was an excellent engineer. He was really kind to people. He was a great colleague. But most of all he made me laugh and smile. I found it hard to keep it together whenever he would bust out his dramatic, "oh dear god!" I will miss his Iditarod updates. While I never saw the results, I know he liked to bake and I would picture him at times in the most absurd apron but with a serious "Paul face" and it would make me smile. He could be whimsical (as seen in the screencap i attached of him during lockdown). But he'd play it cool and not draw attention to it. Also i really appreciate that he's the only one who correctly identified my "Sneakers" zoom bg - because of course he'd remember that movie. He was a friend.

I've worked with Paul on and off for several years, including most recently over the last couple of years. In that time Paul has been a trusted advisor and foil for me as he's challenged my preconceived notions and not just about content at work. He's one of the very few people who really had a strongly principled approach to modelling the world around him, and modelling that behaviour for the engineers and product managers around him. But that's just work. Paul was a good friend, who indulged my penchant for weird herbal teas with grace and aplomb, and with whom I had long meandering conversations about how cool New York is, our favorite off-beat movies, and the various subtle ways to play on the edge of import/export rules to procure obscure electronics from the far flung reaches of the globe. His very dry and understated sense of humour played well with me, a fellow expat Brit. It's a huge loss for our firm, definitely a huge personal loss, and I can only imagine the loss felt by his family, about whom Paul talked often and with huge pride. My condolences to them. Rest in peace my friend, you'll be fondly missed.
