Hi Sally. I was so shocked & still am, when you told me that Pat had passed. He had not long since text to say he was OK & recovering slow but sure.
I have known Patrick since I was 14yrs old (40yrs). He went to school with my long time friends brother Falah who also sadly passed 01/07/19. I have happy memories of them playing space invaders and "going like the clappers" down Moss Park Rd on go-carts.
Also many many memories of our 20's when out socialising. Then meeting again in our 30's when I was a mature student nurse at TGH.
I was thrilled to bump into Pat again about 4 years ago in Sale and we had kept occasional contact ever since. He had not changed one bit. Still the great person he always was with a killer smile and kindness beaming from his every pore. A class act. Considerate, caring, fun & genuinely interested in other people. He was one of life's genuine good people. He was a rare diamond.
I read a quote last week that I would like to share. "The brightest stars burn out faster but they are the most beautiful."
I can't say goodbye, I will just say goodnight or see you later my beautiful friend. See you tomorrow in my memories. He will remain in so many peoples memories Sally because he was so well thought of and loved by so many.
I will phone you next month to find out where he lays, so I can go and pay my respects.
