Daddy, Uncle, Broda – you were one in a million dad! You were a provider, protector and a professor of
love of family.
You came, you loved, you provided, and you professed your love of God and family to all and sundry.
You are the reason my family came to America, we could always count on your prayers, your love, and
support. Your gentle voice were always sure and soothing. I found another big brother in you. Out of
your dedication to the welfare and continued quest for family excellence, you submitted my wife’s name
in the 1995 VISA lottery; and the rest is history. We met for the first time on August 22, 1995. Our
conversation of that day, and the several advises and instructions you gave me are still fresh in my mind
and have been pivotal to many decisions that I made, which led to great achievements for me and my
family in this country. You opened your home and heart to me and took me as a brother when you said,”
Idee, O kii se ana mi, aburo mi ni e”. This statement led to several conversations that we had and insight
you provided on several issues. I hope and pray that all that you wished for all of us will be fulfilled even
in your absence. Your quest for peace was monumental, wisdom, analogies, and ability to provide
context and clarity on issues without bias was phenomenon. Broda, I’m glad I made your birthday last
March. I already miss your Sunday calls, and for the first time I missed your birthday call on my birthday
in November.
