Judge Virgilio Martinez Capili was born on April 3, 1933 to Brigido Tamayo Capili and Concepcion Martinez Capili.
He married Salud Pendon Capili on January 15, 1966 and had five children.
He earned his High School Diploma and Associate in Arts degree from the Far Eastern University. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree at the Manuel L. Quezon University School of Law. He was a member of Beta Sigma Lambda Fraternity.
He was a Private Practitioner and Special Attorney of COMELEC under Justice Lino Patajo during the late 1950s, before transferring to the Office of the Government Corporate Counsel as State Corporate Attorney. He briefly served as a Special Assistant to Civil Service Commissioner Abelardo Subido in the early 1960s and retired as Assistant Government Corporate Counsel in the 1990s, after serving the Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC) for more than 30 years.
He was a faithful husband, a devoted father and a doting grandfather.
Virgilio is survived by his wife, Salud, children, Jose Wendell, John Wesley, James Walter, Jun Wilvir, and Sheryll Liza, and his grandchildren, Lorenzo Miguel, Maxine Mikaela, Lauryn Dominique, Patrick Joseph, Juan Carlos, Yumi Abigail, Sean Tristan and Sara Caitlyn.
He will be missed by his family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances.
