Currently serving as the Deputy Chair of the Badminton Asia TOC, Mr. Sudhakar Vemuri is one of the most respected Technical Officials in the Badminton World Federation circuit.
With the distinction of officiating in three consecutive Olympics (1992, 1996, and 2000) as an Umpire, Mr. Sudhakar had been a Referee, Umpire Assessor, and course conductor for Umpires later.
He traveled across Asia and abroad, educating and mentoring technical officials, motivating them, leading by example in his current role. A recipient of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his role as a mentor for BWF umpires and a BWF Umpire Assessment Panel member Mr. Sudhakar is survived by his wife and two daughters.
