Haigh, Rona passed away peacefully on 17th June 2020 at Manorlands Hospice surrounded by her loving family at the age of 83.
She was the beloved wife of Frank, cherished mum to Julie, loved Mother-in-law of Kevin and adored Nanna of Andrew, Victoria, Matthew, Aimee and (in-law) John.
Rona spent her early working years as a mender at Becks Mill and told many tales about getting into trouble for talking too much or too loudly. Something that never thankfully changed throughout her life - saying with a smile “my dad was deaf” in answer to any looks or comments.
Rona then used her ebullient manner to become the entertaining landlady at the Hole in the Wall pub in Hebden Bridge before starting up an office cleaning business with husband Frank. A natural leader who described herself as “not bossy, just having better ideas” - she continued in business until she retired.
Rona loved to travel and partied in the sun with family and friends especially enjoying holidays in Thailand and Tenerife. She formed strong friendships which lasted throughout her life not only with people she met from around the world but also from Keighley where she was born and raised. Rona was wonderful and warm person and will remain in hearts of family and friends forever.
Please leave your messages of condolence and share stories so that we can celebrate her life and/or make any donations to Manorlands Hospice in memory of Rona, may she Rest in Peace.
