Yothers Sr.
gedeactivereerd
Richard, was born to Chester and Dortha Yothers in Whitsett, PA on February 11, 1938. Upon graduating from Hurst High School, he enlisted into the Air Force where he proceeded to serve his country, being stationed in Germany before meeting and marrying the love of his life.
Richard met Nancy Riffle upon his return to his hometown at a skating rink in Pennsylvania; they were inseparable from that moment on. One of Nancys’ favorite memories with Richard was when they traveled across the country together in their vehicle. Their love for travel proceeded into their later years where they traveled from Michigan Summers to Florida winters to be with family.
Richard and Nancy’s marriage led to the blessing of three children, Richard Eugene Yothers Jr., Patricia Ann Yothers, and Todd Chester Yothers. Together, he and Nancy loved to support their families love for softball and baseball; they even coached Patty’s softball team and hosted many team pool parties at the family home in Florida.
Retired from carpentry, you could find Richard in his woodshed making beautiful art and gifting it to the ones he loved so much. If he wasn’t in the woodshed, Richard was meticulously caring for his lawn and garden. Richard will always be remembered for his goofy, fun-loving nature.
Preceded in death by Melvin R. Yothers (brother) and Patricia Ann Yothers (loving daughter), Richard's legacy continues through his wife Nancy Riffle Yothers, Richard Eugene Yothers Jr., Todd (Cathy) Yothers, Monica (Eric) Emmorey, Richard (Jen) Eugene Yothers III, Brennan (Brandie) Yothers, Rhyanna (Tyler) Northrup, Sarah Yothers, Amanda Yothers, and eleven great grandchildren whom he loved with all his big heart.
Funeral arrangements will be determined in the near future and will be held in Pennsylvania by the end of Summer 2024. In the meantime, the family would love to hear about your favorite memory with Richard and feel comforted by your condolences should you wish to leave them.
