GLORIOUS EXIT Of A PATRIOTIC PATRIARCH
In deep pain and sorrows in our hearts but with joyful thanks to God, we hereby announce the glorious exit of our Patriarch, Prince Bernard Ojiako Akubueze, a.k.a. Ben Golden, who passed into eternity at the ripe age of 89 years.
Prince Akubueze, from the Royal Umudei family in Mgbele Oguta, Imo state, is survived by 5 male 5 female children, grandchildren. Until his death, he was the oldest male in Ojiako Akubueze Umudei Royal family of Mgbele in Oguta.
Prince Akubueze was former Chairman of Oguta Local Government Area Council during the dispensation of General Sani Abacha, then military Head of State of Nigeria. Our Patriarch was a seasoned community leader, an elder statesman, and one of the founding fathers of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) in 1978/79.
Equally, our Patriarch, was a successful entrepreneur and trailblazing international developer. He was the Founder and Chairman of International Agency for Rural Industrialization (INARI) with headquarters in Lomé, Togo. He was also the CEO/MD of OASC Nig. Ltd, a flourishing construction company that served to build different public infrastructure still standing strong in Imo state.
Married and committed to only one wife, late Mrs. Priscilla Akubueze, throughout his lifetime, our Patriarch was a devout Christian and he held the position of Senior Apostle in the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim in the Owerri Provincial Headquarters of the Church in Nigeria.
Our Patriarch was not only an astute politician who believed in equity and justice, he was also a freedom fighter, a leader with integrity, and a peace builder who helped to foster peace, reconciliation, and progress among different people and communities in Imo state.
We will profoundly miss our Patriarch, Prince Ben Akubueze. But we sincerely thank God for his long, distinguished, and prosperous life spent in the service of his family, community, Imo State and Nigeria at large.
Moreover, we hope that his legacy of honesty, humility, forthrightness, and kindness towards positively impacting the lives of the less privileged people in our community and Imo state will continue.
Most importantly, we all pray that the soul of our Patriarch, Prince Bernard Ojiako Akubueze, and the souls of the faithful departed will rest in peace.
