.Those we love can never be more than a thought away;
for as long as there's a memory, they live on in our hearts.
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart, we have to inform you that Lalubhai Parekh (BA LLB HONS) left us for heavenly abode on Monday, 26-July-2021 in London.
For us at OFBJP (UK), it is saddest of the moments. He left behind some pleasant memories of our togetherness that was shared in our organisation. The struggles, his thoughts, his work, the perspectives, and, most importantly, a 'never say die' spirit is still in our memories. He was able to bring an unusually positive synergy to the community.
Shri Lalubhai was born in Rajkot, Gujarat on 12-November-1932 and had his formal education there before migrating to East Africa where he established his law firm in Mwanza (Tanzania). In early 70’s he migrated to UK. He owned a post office in Central London and the Kings Head Hotel near St Pancras Station.
Shri Lalubhai was very active in Indian community intiatives in the UK. He was;
Patron and former President of Overseas Friends of BJP UK (OFBJP)
Former Trustee of Navnat Vanik Association UK CIO
Swayamsevak of HSS
Former President of National Congress of Gujarati Organisations (NCGO)
Founding Member of Gujaratis in the UK
He built close relations with many UK and Indian leaders namely Late. Keshubhai Patel (former CM of Gujarat), Shri. Vajubhai Vala (former Governor of Karnataka), Shri. Narendra Modi (Prime Minister of India).
His heavenly abode has left behind a deep vacuum in the lives of Smt. Nirmala Parekh (wife), Mamta Parekh (daughter) and Sunil Lakhani (son in law) and grandchildren Curran Lakhani and Rahul Lakhani.
To offer prayer for the eternal peace and SADGATI to the athma and to condole with his family and friends, OFBJP UK has organised 'Condolence Meet online on 7th August 2021. Kindly join with friends and families and share your memories.
Aum Shanti Shantih!
