It is very hard to believe that Jos de Goey passed away last Friday. I am deeply saddened by this tremendous loss.
In his role as CEO of WorldSkills Netherlands and President and Chair of WorldSkills International, he was truly passionate about his work, and the driving force behind the promotion of skills in the world. He really made the difference by his excellent vision on inspiring young people to attend vocational education.
I will miss him not only on a professional level, but also personally due to our contacts where we shared our experiences.
In these last decades, Jos has added great value to promoting vocational training and bringing it to the next level. Last year, he was elected President and Chair for WorldSkills International (more than 80 countries/regions)..
WorldSkills Netherlands and WorldSkills International loses a highly professional and inspiring President.
I express my sincere and deepest condolences for his wife Anouschka and their children Charlotte and Torsten. I wish them all the strength during this difficult time.
Warm regards,
Cees Beuk
