Jim Borders, age 69, of Stockton, New Jersey, died peacefully on July 19th, 2017, surrounded by family after a short illness. After retirement from the State Department of Labor, Jim became the Open Space Coordinator for Delaware Township. In that position, he was involved in the preservation of several hundred acres of cherished farmland in the township.
Jim's vibrant personality will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He always lit up the room wherever he was and always had a story or a joke to tell. Jim loved the game of ice hockey and was a long time Princeton season ticket holder. He was an avid reader and loved to spend time at his home with his wife, the love of his life, Dr. Mary Daly. He also took great joy with Mary's family in Texas and enjoyed the lifestyle he discovered there.
Besides Mary, Jim leaves behind two brothers, Bruce of Coventry, CT and Drew and his wife Gloria, of New Britain, CT. He will also be remembered fondly by his two step-daughters, Justine Daly and Gael Baughman, step-son Joe Daly, and his nieces Jessica Becker and Emily Borders, who always referred to him as their "Silly Uncle Jimmy".
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 27, from 12-3pm at the Sergeantsville Firehouse in Seargentsville, NJ. Please share this information with Jim's many friends.
