Dr. Mrs. Flora Nneka Ojukwu JP was an ace broadcaster and journalist with Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, an experienced speaker, compere at events and conferences in Nigeria and other countries, including the United States of America.
She was a trained coach with the inspiration mandate speakers club and a mentor of individuals who would banish their butterflies and generally improve their public speaking skills.
As a prolific writer and creative, Flora Ojukwu was the Chief Editor of several editions of The Quintessential Magazine amidst other famous publications.
Flora Ojukwu, (JP.) Ph.D. was also an Alumnus of The UA - University of America California Temecula; UNN, IMT, ESCET, Nigeria Broadcast Academy Lagos, Nigeria. Udi Road Primary school, Asata, Enugu, briefly attended Ekwuluobia girls secondary school, Ekwuluobia. Her parents were Teachers.
She attended St Baths Primary School, Asata, while she proceeded to CITY Girls Secondary School Enugu. She was a Teacher at Queens Comprehensive Schools Enugu, Head of Presentation FRCN (Radio Nigeria) Enugu, National Station Associate Lecturer: School of Communication Arts, Mass Com. Dept, Faculty of Social Sciences, GO UNIVERSITY.
As a preteen in the late '70s and teenager in the '80s, talking English on NTA kiddies package tortoise club also laid a background of what was going to umpire her nomenclature years to come - which is why her passion and zeal were both divine and spectacular.
She was so endowed with natural aptitude and proficiency to excel in whatever she does that her close friends, husband, and listeners on the radio called her Made In Heaven.
Her sentimental velvety and sonorous voice makes listening to the radio at every point a delight, whether it was a late-at-night package, personality interview, the audience participatory Media Link, Nigerian pride, commercial Announcements, stage performances, and master of ceremonies.
Flora Nneka Ojukwu exhibited so much uniqueness and maturity with a finesse that only a seasoned, gifted, and exposed consummate performer can flaunt.
On one occasion, her mentors stormed out of her office to find out what pivots her unparalleled passion and apparent profession even when she did not have to study Mass Communication nor English Language as a single honours!
The Radio Nigeria Training School and academy had identified Flora Ojukwu as a distinguished candidate in the entire professional between 2006 to 2012 as she gave her very best in practice and intellectual beyond expectations.
Flora Loved God so much that she sang with her guitar, played the piano, and always ministered in her great heavenly voice wherever she was privileged to perform on stage.
As a gospel music minister with two albums to her credit, Everything & Olisa Daalu: Dr. Mrs. Flora Ojukwu (JP) was the only female amongst six males born to her late parents Chief (Barr.) Lawrence and late Lolo Mrs. Grace Ezuma (JP) of Umudimekwulu Clan (Aro-Agulu) Ozalla Village, Aguluezechukwu Town Aguata LGA of Anambra State.
Married to Rev. Francis Ebele Ojukwu Esq, Dr. Mrs. Flora Nneka Ojukwu had five children: Honey Favour, David, Hagin, Osborn, and Chinercherem Cherry as she raised them in the ways of the Lord, offering them all she could through motherly love and care in parenting.
Her recognition and awards include the 2010 Woman of Young Stars for Jesus by the Enugu Diocese Anglican Communion, FRCN 2005 Recognition Awards for the Sterling Performance and Exemplary Attitude, 2008 Best Female Voice on Radio by CEPAN, Fellow, Emeralds Professional Women (EPWF) Mentor and Lecturer of Mass Communication Students at Godfrey Okoye University, Media Professional at West African Broadcast Academy ( WABMA) Special Honorary Mention and Recognition by the African Diaspora Council of Switzerland, Jerusalem Pilgrim (JP), Merit Award by NAOTMS IMT Enugu in recognition of contribution to the society, Member of NUJ, Member, Enugu Branch of National Association of women journalists, member, Women's Guild & Mothers Union Of Nigeria amongst others.
Flora remained a teachable individual whose persona to excel was willing to venture into areas that enabled her to raise the bar in her chosen career.
Her expectations were full of never-ending varieties in life. She had put her hands into great enterprises like bakery, decoration, event planning, proper hat making, and a lot of other enterprising ventures as she and her wonderful husband had called Lora Fran Ventures.
Flora will continue to be a woman of great strength, vigor, gorgeous intuition, utmost finesse, and vast intellectual capacity, as an ever empathetic friend and a great mother to her mentees and her five lovely children. Forever.
Dr. Mrs. Flora Ojukwu sadly passed away on May 3rd at the hospital while undergoing treatment for cancer.
