Such terribly sad and shocking news. Jonathan was a truly great Registrar and was widely respected in the UK by his colleagues. He had such a fine mind, a sureness of touch, huge wisdom and a deep commitment to Higher Education. I was fortunate enough to work with him at Warwick and learnt so much from him. At Birmingham, we still benefit from the changes he introduced and the many colleagues who worked with him here have expressed their deep condolences. He was kind and thoughtful, with a sharp sense of humour, and he was a good friend. My heart goes out to Sue and the family.
