Dr. Uday Jejurikar, 67, passed away on 1st January 2022 evening due to a sudden heart attack.
Dr Uday Jejurikar was an Indian gastroenterologist, with speciality in Endoscopy and General Surgery. Key affiliations were Professor of Surgery at RDG Medical College Ujjain, and Patidar Hospital & Research Center. He dedicated his entire life to saving others lives. He has been single handedly contributing as the only specialist in the city, nearby towns and villages not only for years, but decades. He was a role model for countless individuals. He was content with what he had achieved in his life, without any support from anyone, while enduring all the struggles by himself and also supporting his family.
He was born in Gwalior and grew up in Bhopal ( India ), where he did his schooling and then masters in Surgery Gandhi Medical College. Following that, he served and lived in Mumbai, Korba, Darjeeling, and Ujjain, where he spent the rest of his life. He received training in Endoscopy from AIMS ( Dehi ) Laparoscopy from Apollo ( Hyderabad ) and ERCP from Mumbai, after which he has been the organizer, chairman at several medical workshops and conferences. Although his actual contributions go much beyond just the formal titles and degrees. He has saved families by counseling for de-addiction, charity and free treatments, encouragement to the students, and promoting, guiding others. He loved music, and was also an astrologer.
The mishap happened on 1st January 2022. He was perfectly fine until the very last moment. He spent time with doctors and friends on New year eve ( the night before his demise ) and went for work on the last day as well. He used to live a healthy life. He was transferred to the hospital immediately after the attack but couldn’t be saved despite the best efforts.

उज्जैन शहर के ख्यातिप्राप्त डॉ उदय जेजुरिकर , वरिष्ठ पेट रोग विशेषज्ञ, सर्जन एवं प्रोफ़ेसर आर॰डी॰ गार्डी॰ मेडिकल कॉलेज , का 1 जनवरी 2022 को ह्रदयघात से निधन हो गया ।
वे पाटीदार अस्पताल में मुख्यतः अपनी सेवाएँ दे रहे थे। विशेषतः बहुत कम खर्चे पर गरीब से गरीब मरीज़ों को इलाज की सुविधाएँ प्रदान करते थे। नम्र एवं हंसमुख स्वभाव के डॉ साहब सभी के अतिप्रिय थे।वे संगीत में विशेष रुचि रखते थे, और ज्योतिष शास्त्र के भी ज्ञाता थे। चिकित्सा जगत में उनकी कमी सदैव खलती रहेगी। उनका जीवन मरीज़ों के लिए समर्पित रहा। मूलतः ग्वालियर में जन्मे एवं भोपाल में अपनी शिक्षा पूर्ण करके वे मुंबई, NTPC कोरबा, प्लैंटर्ज़ हॉस्पिटल दार्जीलिंग और फिर उज्जैन आकर चिकित्सा जगत में अपनी सेवाएँ देते रहे। उन्होंने एंडोस्कोपी की ट्रेनिंग AIMS दिल्ली से एवं लेप्रोस्कोपी की ट्रेनिंग अपोलो हैदराबाद से ली थी। उन्होंने नशमुक्ति एवं परिवार कल्याण में भी सहयोग दिया था। मेडिकल कॉलेज में भी वे सबके चहेते थे, और टीचिंग में उनकी ख़ास रुचि थी।
