"Celebrating Precious Memories"
Caring brother, adoring father, loving grandfather, devoted husband, professional "storyteller", and gourmet home chef specializing in camping food and oyster dressing.
Born in Columbus, Indiana to Mary Margaret Ricki and Woodrow Wilson Meek, Dick was the middle child of five kids. In 1972, he married Vickie Meek, and together raised three kids in Noblesville, Indiana. A person who valued spending time with his kids and grandkids more than a paycheck, he rarely missed his kids events.
He had a life long love of pig's knuckles and cabbage soup. His recipes required no measurements. He took fashion cues from no one, taught his kids the art of sarcasm, and he would do anything for his grandkids.
He was a quiet giant and one of a kind, who always put family first.
And he went OUT the way he lived his entire life -- on his own terms. He made sure to say his goodbyes to his kids, his grandkids, his wife of 52 years, a priest, and then had a strawberry shortcake before closing his eyes...passing away peacefully in his sleep.
