The late Ms. Diamond Uzong, formerly known as Deborah Ogungbesan, was born on September 22, 1987, into a family of five: two brothers and three sisters. Close family members affectionately called her "Pampampey," a nickname that reflected her lively and cheerful personality.
In 2000, Diamond was admitted to the prestigious Federal Government Girls' College (FGGC) Calabar, where she completed her secondary education with the Class of 2007. In 2014, she briefly served with the Nigerian Navy.
Following her mother's passing on September 6, 2014, Diamond made the heartfelt decision to change her name from Deborah Ogungbesan to Diamond Uzong, adopting her late mother’s maiden name for deeply personal reasons.
In early 2023, Diamond was diagnosed with a health condition and courageously battled it for over a year. She peacefully transitioned to the great beyond on Monday, January 6, 2025.
