Denise Maryann Garcia was born and raised in San Jose, California. She was known by her friends, family and loved ones as Neesy, Auntie Neenee, Snacks, Stella, Mom, Grandma, Cuz and Honey. She enjoyed traveling, laughing, shopping and being with or just talking to those close to her.
Some of her favorite vacation destinations included, Hawaii, Bahamas, Mexico, New Orleans and San Diego. She enjoyed the adventures of travel from flying on the plane to sightseeing and eating out at the restaurants.
She had a great eye for fashion and enjoyed getting dressed up, especially for church. Denise was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness church in Little Elm, Texas. She enthusiastically attended Sunday services and Wednesday bible studies. Having lunch with her friends after church made Sunday a special day for her.
She was a self-professed animal lover and would volunteer time helping with pet adoptions. She enjoyed riding horses whenever she could as a child. As an adult, she was finally able to go horseback riding again in Yosemite National Park. Everyone who knew her however understood that the love for her Boxers Cooper Brown and Tyson had no equal. They were rarely not at her side all day and night.
Denise is survived by her mother Helen, Dave, her son Jay (Pearl) her grand-children Jax and Alivia, her son Davis, her sisters Elaine and Norine (Simon), her cousins Bobby, Cindy, Richard & Tracy, her aunt Rachel and her nieces & nephews Harley, Gabby, Alisha and Gabriel.
"A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
and for a brief moment her glory and beauty belongs to our world.
But then she flies again.... And though we wish she could have stayed...
We are lucky to have seen her."
