Nick Spencer

October 15, 1958 - April 7, 2020

Our great friend and former colleague, Nick Spencer, has sadly passed away. Nick left BP at the end of March, and his death has come as a great shock to us all. We are truly sorry and cannot possibly comprehend the grief that Nick’s partner Eve, and his sons Richard and Robert, are feeling right now. We would like to share your memories, stories and anecdotes of Nick and his time at BP with his family. Nick was a much-loved colleague, and we appreciate your support to help his family through this extremely difficult time.

Nick was in so many ways and inspiring leader and what I personally will always feel most grateful for, is the time Nick gave to people, including me. To share knowledge, insights, advise or also, after some time, a witty word in his so typical quite but determined manner. Nick´s passion for manufacturing, ops excellence and the well-being of refining, including its people, was and will remain an inspiration to me. I am deeply sadden to see Nick leave us so definitively and am deeply, deeply sorry for his family´s loss. I have spent my career within BP in and around refining and have had the luxury to enjoy working with Nick in a number of roles, and have nothing but good personal memories and many insights he shared himself or I took away by observing Nick operate. You will be missed.
