Neil and I began our lifelong friendship nearly 60 years ago when we started at Hemsworth Grammar School in September 1962. We played rugby together, drank beer together and had some great escapades together. He was truly a one off, a man of great loyalty, great passion and great company. His passing will leave a profound void in so many peoples' lives not least of course his family to whom I extend my deepest sympathies.
RIP big man.
