Dear Charles and family It is with great sadness that I received the message of the passing of Nachita. I met her the first time at the presentation of the book about her father “Tropical Modernity”. Until that presentation I had no idea that I had family members in Holland connected to the brother of my grandfather. After this first meeting we met from time to time for “rijsttafel”. I really enjoyed the stories that she told about the family. Through her I also got into contact with other family members which I had no awareness of. I treasure the memories in my heart of Nachita. Nachita may you rest in peace. Love Ellen Schoemaker
