As one of the governors who appointed Melanie, we felt that we were very lucky to have such an ideal candidate as the new head of St Aidans, And so it turned out to be.
She fully immersed herself in a job which she clearly loved. Her leadership qualities were inspirational, and an important factor here was that she saw herself as a leader of a team who all worked together and shared their ideas to make St Aidans one of the top St Helens schools academically, with a wonderfully warm, caring, Christian ethos, remarked on by so many visitors, including OFSTED inspectors.
The children gave the impression of owning the school and they made you welcome.
Melanie will be sorely missed, but she leaves an incredible legacy,
God bless and keep you Melanie.
