I am completely stunted and heart broken, and in shock. Our brother Mazin, friend, colleague and champion has departed this earth but too soon at the hands of a scoundrel with no mercy. Our Mazin will never be forgotten and surely missed. He is in my heart and I pray for his dear family whom I met on several occasions in Erbil, so that they may be strong during these difficult times. Mazin was and remains a “Champion’s Champion”: dedicated, persevering, innovative and determined, hardworking, yet also kind hearted and gentle: a “bull-worker” striving in problem solving as a member of a team, with no rest until the job was done. He was a family man above all else and a good and trusted friend and colleague, indeed “a friends best friend”. As a “MASHOM’er he was not just a team member but a “road-runner” and innovator, full of devotion, inspiration dedication and commitment to both his work and family and others. He never turned away from anyone needing help. We have lost a great person. May we live wiser and stronger in the light of such a terrible loss. May he be blessed in Heaven. May we be strong and connected in moments of such sadness and praise his name and life to the Heavens! My brother Mazin may you rest in Peace in God’s Good and Faithful Hands.
