Condolences to the family as well as friends and colleagues. Matthew’s contribution to our sector will be missed. It’s hard to contemplate his absence. From the Urban Foundation days, the National Housing forum and our Housing White Paper to the Land Release study most recently and so much in between. Matthew worked with passion and conviction. He offered his advice to us at the Socio Economic Rights Institute before the pandemic began and during lockdown we sought his perspective on rental arrangements given the hardship both tenants and small landlords have been experiencing. Condolences from SERI. Personally I will miss his incisiveness, direct style and willingness to debate. I wish the family long life and much strength.
