Matt was one of the most considerate and supportive professionals I have ever worked with. They say that people in life are either "glass half full" or "glass half empty" in terms of their outlook and approach. Matt was a "glass full" person. His counsel was always measured and relevant and, the true mark of a friend, he was there for people when they needed him with advice or kind words. It was a pleasure and an honour to have worked alongside him on insolvency and restructuring assignments, in which he always looked to make a difference.
Matt was a stalwart supporter of R3 at both national and regional level, someone who gave so much more to the profession and to those around him than he ever expected to receive in return.
I will miss Matt as a fellow insolvency professional but more importantly as a friend and as a thoroughly decent man whose life has meant so much to so many people. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Sue and his children Christian and Annie at this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Matt.
