I had the good fortune of knowing Matt since he moved up to EY Liverpool probably 30 years ago. I remember buying his first mobile phone which was the size of a brick. We felt we were a sophisticated team as we controlled trading receiverships with our matching Motorolla's.
I taught Matt all I knew about insolvency - that took 15 minutes. He did the rest. What a huge success he made of himself - I am glad I was part of it. He was a True Gent and a really special person. He will be sadly missed by all who met him - and that's a lot.
I will miss the phone calls when you were driving home and there was nothing good on the radio.
RIP Matt and thank you for your company.
Sue, Christian and Annie – if you didn’t know already, Matt was very special.
