Bryden, M. Bernadette, 74, passed away in the Halifax Infirmary on May 10, after a brief illness. Born in Baddeck, her family moved to Halifax in 1950. She was the daughter of the late James R. and Lillian (MacIsaac) MacLellan.
Bernadette is survived by her son, Kevin; sisters Janet, Edmonton; Frances Carmichael (Alex), Elderbank; Pauline, Halifax; Joan Crawford, Kingston; Roseanne Rice, Halifax; nephews and nieces James Carmichael, Christina Tsmikilis, Donald Carmichael, Jennifer Crawford, David Carmichael, and Lucas Crawford.
In addition to her parents, Bernadette was predeceased by three sisters Anne, Mary Delores, and Mary Christena, and brothers-in-law Phil Schadlosky and Brian Crawford.
In 1965 Bernadette graduated from the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing. She retired from the Halifax Shipyards after 25 years as an occupational health nurse.
Family meant everything to Bernadette, and her favourite time was family gatherings. As long as she was able, she attended the Halifax Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Her appreciation and support of local farmers was a priority.
Funeral service will be held at St Agnes Church (Mumford Road) on Wednesday, May 15 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the church hall.
The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of 8.2 for their compassionate care.
