I worked alongside Martin for four years. He was a real people-person and had many friendly and wise words of advice for a newcomer. He talked proudly and fondly of his family, especially his grandchildren. I will miss him in the mornings at work where, in reply to an inquiry as to how he was, Martin would reply "Super, smashing, great!", sometimes with irony, but always with a smile. The office won't be the same without him; he will be sadly missed.
