Mark was much more than a technically excellent engineer. He was a kind and warm-hearted person who was always willing to take time to listen and to discuss personal thoughts and experiences. I have always felt how lucky I was to have him as my line manager when he was Head of Assurance for the Sub-surface Upgrade Programme (SUP) during which time he taught me such a lot about engineering and the assurance regime within London Underground. I'll always remember Mark with huge fondness and my thoughts and prayers are with all of his family at this very sad time.
