I briefly met Marcus nearly 10 years ago when I first started working at Lincolnshire County Council and when I got my invite to attend my interview with him at Norfolk I recognised the name straight away and remembered he was the man from the office all those years ago who was kind, took time to talk to me and liked football. I never did find out if he remembered our one prior meeting...
When I joined Norfolk Marcus supported me to adapt to a very different role to the one I had come from, pointing me in the right direction and sharing his knowledge and experience. He always took the time to see if I was OK and was genuinely interested in how I was getting on and how things were in 'God's country'. He is very much missed.
