I am so saddened by the loss of such a wonderful teacher. Mr. Hruska was a coach and Science teacher for my son while he was at Thornton. He always went above and beyond in everything he did and his dedication to academics and athleticism was amazing. I remember my son with a Little Book of Words for Math.
I have also had the chance to work with Mr. H. in action as a parent. Boy did he love his boys. I would often arrive at school at the same time as the family and he would be taking both boys (one by the hand and one being held in his arms...when he was younger) to daycare. They were always having fun in the hall and Nathan was always working on his numbers. Lee stood up for his kids and loved them with everything he had. I know he is looking down and hugging his family, students and friends right now. Thank you for showing us how to love life and be a classy person with such amazing integrity.
