I had the privilege to meet and work with Laleh since 1996, before she joined GEF/SGP. In those days we were working together to start a new group to facilitate change. Laleh believed in community-based development, and her views always inspired me and complemented my learning, as I focused on organizational development. I worked with her more closely, when joining UN-sponsored projects, since 2006, and we had fruitful exchanges and dialogue once in a while. She did a great job in documenting lessons learned from SGP projects, which greatly helped me get a better picture of the challenges, possibilities, approaches and methodologies for engaging more effectively with local communities. I am sure the seeds she has helped to plant in different places, are growing and spreading beyond our lifetime.
