When I first decided to become a Montessori Directress, my cousin who had been a Montessori teacher told me that if I wanted to have an idea of what the perfect Montessori nursery looked like then I should go and visit the Studio Montessori and meet Kim, so I did. Kim very soon took me on as one of her students and within weeks of joining her nursery, I was delighted when she quickly offered me a job and as a result I stayed with Kim until she made the sad decision to close the Studio. While Kim was my boss, it is as my mentor that I will remember her with the most fondness and to which I hold her in the highest regard. She was a remarkable lady who created a very warm and special environment for young children and for her staff and was an integral part of the Montessori community. I could not have asked for a better place or a better teacher to impart their knowledge and guide me, as I embarked on this new career path. Kim, I will miss you very much and the chats we used to have, but I will continue to think of you often and to incorporate all that you taught me into my daily teaching practice. To Faith, Clare and Christian and all of Kim's family - I extend my heartfelt condolences to you all. With love - Nicky x
