Keith Tan

December 22, 1938 - September 11, 2021

Exactly 20 years ago, our father made a miraculous recovery from a ruptured aneurysm that should have taken his life. We recall watching in disbelief the news of the attack on the Twin Towers as our family gathered together after a visit to the hospital. He went on to live a full life and be a part of the lives of 7 grandchildren, 4 fur-grandchildren, and 2 god-grandchildren with one more on the way. He was a passionate musician and a respected member of the community, especially in his beloved sport of Tae Kwon Do, in which he achieved the highest honours. To many he was Grand Master, but to us, he was our beloved Daddy, Dad, Grandpa and Uncle. All condolence offerings can be transferred to the following account: PBB 4472904534 (Tan Han Yong) or to 016-228 7998. The Tan family thanks you for all the prayers, love and support we have received throughout this period of time.

Thanks for informing us Joanne.I am devastated at the loss of a very dear friend, I first met when I first came to Malacca in 1987.He was my mentor in many ways and we kept in touch constantly even though we did not see each other often, after he left our band.He was an absolute gentleman and my kids remember Uncle Keith vividly. Most of our contemporaries have passed on ( Wong SS/ Daniel Quek etc).I admire him for standing up to his principles and living life to its fullest.I salute him and will never forget him for the impact he had on me. Please comfort your Mum and siblings. From an older person, I can only request you to stay strong for your immediate family. Due to the limitations of this MCO I dont know if there will be any formal bereavement ceremonies we could attend Please keep me informed anyway. Our heartfelt condolences to you and your immediate family from my wife Kemmy and family.Stay strong and stay safe. Dr.Dave.
