I met Kate when she was the OFT and I was at the National Audit Office at the time managing a report on the effectiveness of the OFT’s regulation of consumer credit. Kate was my contact, overseeing liaison with the NAO. She was professional, knowledgeable and a force to be reckoned with in that scenario! I then moved to the FCA a few months after she did. When she heard I had come across she immediately got in touch inviting me for coffee, and we had a good laugh about going head to head on an NAO audit. She was kind and funny, and a hugely supportive colleague; not to mention a role model professional in her job. She’ll be missed very much, and I hope that the memories of Kate can be a blessing to the family. May she rest in peace.
