Karen Druliner Larson

June 5, 1948 - December 8, 2018

KAREN DRULINER LARSON passed away peacefully on December 8, 2018 in West Allis, Wisconsin. Karen was born on June 5, 1948, to Louis and Jane Larson in Flandreau, SD. Karen was a graduate of Austin High School (Austin, MN) where music was the joy of her life. She graduated with a B.A. in Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 1969, and later completed her Masters in Education at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. Karen taught in the School District of La Crosse for 35 years, where she shared her talents and love with countless elementary school students. In 1975, Karen married William O. Druliner in La Crosse, WI, and the couple welcomed a son, William Stephen, in 1979. Throughout the many obstacles in her life, Karen relied on her faith in Christ, her family and her many friendships from her involvement at First Free Church and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was eager to volunteer and serve in La Crosse; sharing her passion for teaching and her friendship with many who were new to America. In 2012, as her health began to deteriorate, Karen chose to move to the Milwaukee area to be near her son’s family. Her family deeply appreciates the dedicated care she received at Bethany on Cass (La Crosse); Layton Terrace Senior Community (Milwaukee), and Ruth Hospice (Milwaukee). Karen is survived by her son, Bill Druliner, daughter-in-law Jessica, and her grandchildren, Matthew, Marisol, and Alaina; her mother, Jane Larson, her sister, Pam (Berne) Indahl, sister-in-law Christine (Doug) Ferguson, nieces and nephews: Eve Vines, Ian Larson, Andrew Indahl, Ben Indahl, and Bethany Indahl; and her former spouse Bill Druliner. Karen is preceded in death by her father, Louis, and brother Keith. A memorial service will be held at First Free Church, 123 Mason St, Onalaska WI on Friday, December 28.
