John was a fantastic friend and colleague and is someone who I will miss dearly. He was caring, and kind, and could always make me smile. He was never afraid to be himself and that is something I really admired.
I remember on one of my visits to St James, I wasn't familiar with the area and really needed a screwdriver to get into a PC, and when I asked John, he pulled one out of his pocket from Doctor Who! It was so unexpected and really made me laugh. Just one of the funny memories that I will never forget.
